8-day tour itinerary

Day 1: Agadir – Taroudant – Ouarzazate

Depart from Agadir and travel towards Taroudant, a historic town surrounded by impressive walls and known for its lively markets. If time allows, enjoy a walk through the streets, observe local daily life and take a short break before continuing inland.

The journey continues through southern Moroccan countryside and mountain landscapes towards Ouarzazate. On arrival, check in and enjoy some time to relax. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley

After breakfast, discover Ouarzazate, a town associated with historic kasbahs and film productions. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a traditional earthen ksar and one of the best-known historic sites in the region. Walk through its narrow lanes and admire the traditional architecture from different viewpoints.

After the visit, continue towards the Dades Valley through dry landscapes, villages and cultivated areas. Scenic stops can be made when time and road conditions permit. Arrive at your accommodation and spend the night in the Dades Valley.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga

In the morning, leave the Dades Valley and head towards Todra Gorges. Their tall rock walls create a striking landscape, ideal for a short walk and photographs. The visit offers an opportunity to appreciate the surrounding mountains and nearby village life.

Continue towards Merzouga, passing through towns and landscapes that signal the approach of the Sahara. On arrival, admire the Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy the desert atmosphere. Overnight in Merzouga, either in local accommodation or at the planned desert camp, according to the confirmed arrangement.

Day 4: Discover the Merzouga Desert

Spend the day getting to know the Merzouga region. Enjoy views of the dunes from different points and discover the surroundings of the desert. Depending on your interests and local conditions, visits to nearby villages and stops to learn about life in this Saharan region can be arranged.

There will also be time to relax and enjoy the scenery at a slower pace. Optional activities, such as a 4×4 excursion on desert tracks or a visit to Khamlia for local music, should be confirmed in advance and depend on availability. Second overnight in Merzouga.

Day 5: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Agdz

After breakfast, leave Merzouga and travel towards the Draa Valley, known for its palm groves, earthen villages and historic caravan routes. The landscape changes along the way, from desert terrain to greener areas around the valley’s watercourses.

Scenic stops may be possible depending on the available time and road conditions. Arriving in Agdz gives you a chance to rest and enjoy the valley surroundings. This is a long driving day, so an early departure is recommended. Overnight in Agdz.

Day 6: Agdz – Marrakech

After breakfast, depart Agdz for Marrakech. The route crosses mountain scenery and southern villages before continuing towards the High Atlas area. Breaks can be arranged along the way, while allowing enough time to reach the city.

On arrival in Marrakech, transfer to your accommodation and enjoy free time to relax or take a first walk nearby. Since much of the day is spent travelling, the main sightseeing is planned for the following day. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 7: Explore Marrakech

Enjoy a day discovering Marrakech, a city known for its medina, traditional markets, historic monuments and lively squares. You can begin with a walk through the old medina and explore the souks, where artisans sell crafts, textiles, leather goods and decorative items.

Depending on your interests, visit selected monuments and gardens or spend more time exploring historic streets and cafés. Jemaa el-Fnaa square is particularly lively in the late afternoon. Entrance tickets, local guides and interior visits should be arranged separately unless specifically included in your booking. Second overnight in Marrakech.

Day 8: Marrakech – Agadir

After breakfast, leave Marrakech and travel back to Agadir. The drive offers another look at Morocco’s inland and southern landscapes, with breaks depending on your needs and road conditions.
